The four rules
These are rules rather than features. They are true of the product wherever you meet it, and every page in these docs is written to obey them.No AI before sign-in
Your sentence is read in your own browser, by static wordlists and a handful
of patterns. The model only ever reads your words once there is an account
for the work to belong to.
Accepting is not signing
Agreeing to the terms and putting your name to them are two acts. The paper
always says which of the two has happened, and who did it.
Lex writes, and only writes
Lex is designed to draft, propose and explain — and never to send and never to
sign. It reports what it found rather than claiming to have read
anything.
The other side never pays
They open the paper in a browser, reply to a clause and put their name to it.

What this is not
Nothing on contracts.io or in these docs is legal advice. We make paper. If your deal needs an opinion, it needs a lawyer, and no page here will pretend otherwise. There are no customer logos, no testimonials and no numbers on these pages beyond the ones the product’s own data gives — how many places are in the picker, how many kinds are in the catalogue, how many of those the door can name.
